my Saturn shots out black smoke from the muffler and the service light is on what could this problem be?

Hi there,
Black smoke is a sign of over fueling or poor combustion, this may have triggered a 02 sensor fault, have the codes checked, if the engine is running well, there may not be a problem, just the one episode will be enough to set a code.
