I was drivivg on the highway when all of a sudden all of the gages on my dash and dash lights came on and the engine died. As I started to pull out of traffic the engine came back on and the gages and light resumed to normal. Two days later I am driving to work and the battery light on my dash came on for about twenty seconds then went off. I also noticed that my headlights and the back light on my dash have been flickering slighty when I start up the car in the morning. I just replaced the alternator 18 months ago with a brand new one. Could this be a bad battery or some other electrical problem?

Could be a bad battery connection/cable or possibly the ignition switch. Have the connections checked for clean and tight at the battery.
