I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with my brother's '96 Saturn SL1 clutch/trans. I am not familiar with working on car clutches, but i have rebuilt the clutch on my motorcycle and I understand how they work. It seems like the clutch may have failed, as it won't go into gear with the engine running. Also, it won't go into 3rd, 4th, or 5th , or reverse even with the engine off and the clutch pedal fully depressed. The clutch cylinder is full and there are no visible leaks in the line to the clutch. I also made sure that the clutch pedal and the rod to the clutch cylinder are working. It may even be the trans itself, but I am trying to narrow down my search. I work in an auto body repair shop but we don't do this kind of work at my job. Any help or information woulod be greatly appreciated.
