My daughter's Saturn SC1 lost just under a gallon of coolant in a five month time slot. It is not dripping under the car that we can see. The mechanic drove it to pressure it up and did not find any sign of leakage. He said it might be a head gasket. What is involved with replacing a head gasket?

Hi there,

I would have the system checked with a pressure tested and not just driven, also check the pressure cap. You can have a test done to check for exhaust gasses in the cooling system, have this done first before tearing of cylinder heads.
