Brakes problem
1992 Saturn Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 179K miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I started my car and went to back out of my driveway, when I heard a "thud", and all of a sudden my car wouldn't move. Not forward or backward. It seemed my brakes locked up. I was not using the emergency brake at the time.

What is this and how do I fix it?

Hi there,

First thing to to make sure that a brake has locked on. Did you have your foot on the brake when you heard the thud? have you had a look under the car to make sure that you have not run over something that may have snagged the hand brake cable ? If not you will have to jack up each wheel, one at a time and see if it rotates freely in both directions. If a wheel is locked up re post with which wheel and i will advise further.
