2002 Saturn L300 wont go into drive

my car starts and runs but somtimes when i go to put it into drive the trasnmision lock wont let me and while im driving a can hear clicking noise coming from the shift column itself it also makes my instruments stop working

Sounds like u have a bad body control module take it to the dealer tell them the syptoms.it has to be programed also.let me know how it goes.
