2002 Saturn L300 smoke from steering column

I have little puffs of smoke coming from my steering column once in awhile.

Most common reason for that is a bad headlight switch do ur headlights ever come on by themselves?Move ur headlight switch with ur headlights on towards the high beam postion does it take little movement for them to light up?Let me know.
