2003 Saturn L200 Screeching Noise

When I first turn on the car and apply gas it makes a screeching noise. Only last about 30 sec after applying gas and shifting in to 3rd. I know my serpatine belt is bad and needs replacement is it that or something more. and if more what could it be?

you could have a bad belt something on the belt like oil etc also you could have a bad belt tenisor starting to get weak.be careful a bad belt tenisor can leave you stranded.good luck let me know how it goes.
