2002 Saturn L200 oxygen sensor

I scan with ODB II for Service engine soon light. It extracted code P0130 directing that upstream oxygen sensor malfuctioning. Replaced with similar ogygen sensor bought from autozone. Service engine light remains steady. I erade code from scanner.

What is missing for turning off service engine soon light ?

it could be bad wiring to the sensor or to the computer.

it also could be an exhaust leak before the sensor, even if the downstream sensor is reading off it could cause the first one to be read wrong.
