WHY DOES MY TAIL/BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORK WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING BUT WHEN I TURN IT OFF THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK?

when u turn on the key something can be stealing the ground from your brake lights causing them to turn off.check your ground circuit to your brake lights with the key on and the key off.it should be real close to 0 ohms to body of car a bare paint area of the car.let me know what you find.
