2005 Saturn Ion Malfunctioning antitheft alarm

Our 2005 Saturn Ion's alarm suddenly can not be armed. All this ocurred after we finished repairing the driver's power window regulator. All the fuses and remote controls are o.k. We do most of the repairs and maintenance to our vehicles but this one seems to be a little harder to figure out. Is there any input you could give me before I take the car to the dealer. I would appreciate your help. Thank you

the only thing that ive seen happen is the door ajar switch being broken .. the vehicle will not arm because it sees a door open. the switch is located on the side of the dash near the door hinge and may have been broken when you took the door panel off_ believe me it's not hard to do. you can easily see if it is broken by comparing it to the passenger side. {or set the dome lamp to come on when the doors are open - does it stay on all the time then?}
