My girlfriends saturn started blowing hot air so we took it to a repair shop to diagnose the problem. They said nothing was wrong visually so they were going to do a recharge. Well they called back and said that refrigerant was leaking from the compressor and not the lines so they would call with a the repair cost. Today they called and quoted us 1252 dollars for the repair. I think I could probably find a used saturn ion with working ac for that price.I think the estimate is very high and wanted another opinion. Figured I asked here and see how much it should cost to repair a saturn ac system.

If there only replacing the compressor and doing nothing else the labor would be 2.4hr's time's shop labor rate 80-100 per hr?40 plus tax for the charge and oil just to be on the safe side.A factory compressor is 614 plus tax. The cheapest I could find a aftermarket compressor was 330 plus tax.
