2003 Saturn Ion odometer cluster replacement

I replaced the sppedo/odometer cluster in my vehicle with a used one as mine was broken..Now the mileage reads "service engine"...I was told I need to bring it to have the computer (ecm?) re-set! My question is?? Can I do this myself ? Un-hooking the battery?

Disconnect the battery, wait for 30 second and then reconnect.
make sur you have the code for your radio.
sometime autopart or autozone can scan and reset the light for you
