My saturn makes a loud noise and you can feel the steering whell jerk when going into a deep curve and lightly applying the brake.

If it's a thump, thump, thump, noise when the brakes are applied, that seems to go with the speed of the car, then the brake rotors are most likely warpped.

I replaced the rotors twice in two years. First after 3,000 miles. I was advised to stop using my emergency brake and I have now gone 20,000 miles and all is still fine. It's hard to get used to, but worth it in repair costs.

Yes, they have been making the brake pads harder now a days which makes for less squeeks and such, but the down fall is that they really heat up and warpped the rotors.
