Salvage yard blend door actuator?

Looking for advice with my wife’s 2013 Dodge grand Caravan blend door actuators.

Went to a salvage yard and got two actuators one for the rear blend door and one for the driver side front. Both actuators worked OK for a few days. Then it seemed once the battery was disconnected the actuators started acting up. Now on the climate control the rear button flashes, and the rear HVAC will not even turn on. Also, for the front actuator, the heat works very well, but the blend door will not actuate all the way for cold air to come through.

I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting and putting the car in RUN mode for 90 seconds without touching anything (the recalibration method that I found on YouTube), but that didn’t change any of the symptoms.

I appreciate any advice. I just want to be a good husband for my wife and help fix things that are going wrong with her van.

Thanks for your time.

Hi:

It is possible the actuators are faulty, but I wouldn't think both would fail at the same time. However, anything is possible.

Are you certain the actuators have the same part numbers?

As far as testing the actuators you have, you need a scan tool to test the circuit. I attached the basic directions below for your review.

I don't know if you have access to a scan tool that can perform the tests, so let me know if this helps or not.

Take care,

Joe
