Someone used a regular metal key without a chip in it and put my car listed above into safe mode?

I have one original key fob, but it still isn’t working.

Do you have the original key as well? Also does the security light flash when you try to crank the engine over. If so, let's try a hard system reboot.

This guide will help:

If this doesn't work let's do a CAN scan. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Please go over these guides and get back to us.

I lost one of the key fobs and a locksmith tried to start it with just a plain key (no chip) so it went into safe mode. I have the second key fob but so far, it’s not working. It tells me it’s the #2 fob. I lost the #1 fob. I have charged it fully and let it sit in on position for 2 hours but it’s still not taking it out of safe mode. I’m trying to avoid towing it to dealer.

I don’t want to invest in a scanner I was hoping for an easier fix somehow since I do have one fob that’s the original.

You need the correct key; the fobs will not allow the car to start without the correct key. What do you use to try and crank the car over, the same key with no chip? You can have a mobile locksmith come out to do the job/program the ignition key it should cost about $250.00.
