I have a 97 SAAB 900 turbo, 40K miles. Runs fine as long as it doesn't sit for a few days. If it sits and it's cold or rainy then you start it up, put in gear and the check engine light and check gearbox light comes on. It's slow to move but when it gets going it has power. After a few times starting and running car is back to normal, lights go off and it runs fine with no power loss. Can you advise?

Even though a vehicle hasn't run for a few days, the ECM and all the memories are still drawing from the battery. I would have your battery load tested and the ECM scanned to find out what tripped your check engine light. Please advise and we can go from there.
