1993 Saab 900 boot lock

if there any other way to gain access to the boot of a 1993 saab convertible 900i... the lock became lose and i tightened up the screws that hold the locking mechanism to the boot lid.. unfortunatly the mechanism must have been out of alighnment as i can no longer unlock the boot with key or electric central locking device... i have tried to manipulate the locking mechanism by gaining entry via the holes where the number plate lights are..but after 3 hours had to give up.. george
