Hi. I'm looking at buying a 1985 Saab Aero which is in great condition (I loove these cars) but it keeps popping out of reverse. Is this a sign of a terminal problem, or will I get a few years out of it before I need to pull it all apart?

Thanks

When they pop out of gear it is usually one of two things. The shifter isnt getting it all the way in gear, or the trans has an internal problem.Check all shifter mounts and bushings to be sure none are worn out.If they are all good then it is internal and may last a while or could quit tomorrow, it is hard to tell.
