The airconditioning appears to work just fine. However, there is a vibration (expansion tube?) under the hood, when I turn the engine off, after running the AC. Can I just live with this without damaging the AC system? Also, can I put some sort of runner ring around this tube to prevent it from hitting against other parts under the hood, thus dampening the vibration?

You can cushion it -have the compressor checked out could be the cause of the vibration.
