I have replaced the Air Flow Sensor twice and within driving 15-20 miles, the check engine light comes back on and the code continues to come up as:

Air Flow Sensor

When the vehicle is first cranked its idle is high and within a second, it drops to a slow idle and often dies and needs to be recranked.

Any suggestions on what else should be tried? Could their be a wire loose on the air flow sensor connection? The air filter was also replaced at the same time.

Yikes, it cost me almost $400 in labor for the mechanics to determine nothing. They first believed that the first air flow sensor I purchased was defective, then when it did it again on the second one purchased, they gave up. HELP! I have spent far too much money in parts and labor to not have the issue resolved.

U need to post the code u have, but anyways, did u check for air leak in the system before the throttle body, meaning iair intake hoses, turbo intercooler check for cracked, check turbo bypass valve for malfunction, use a vacuum pump type gauge to check valve if it holds pressure, but post the codes u have next time.

I greatly appreciate your advice on other things to check on my SAAB. I just this week found a mechanic that knows and works on SAABs. The nearest dealership in not at all convenient to me.

Bless you for your willingness to offer help. You and your knowledge is greatly appreciated!
