I have been given an estimate of $600 to fix this leak. the engine appears to burning, you can see smoke coming out of the engine. How dangerous is this. Can i continue to drive this way. Is it worth fixing or should i biuy a new car

what r they fixing for $6oo ,if smoke coming from back of engine area then u may have just a oil pressure switch failure causing leak onto exhaust ,or is the oil coming from the head gasket area or valve cover area those r the only causes for oil leak on a 4cyl type engine mostly ,others may be front or rear main oil seal leaks or oil pan ,also it is recommended to update crankcase ventilation system with new type that is out now for the 4cyl engine .post back soon .good luck
