1999 Saab 9-5 manual transmission

to check your manual trans fluid level u will need a 10mm allen key type socket & handle , to locate fill plug & drain plug ,u need to look from the driver side ,looking at gearbox locate where axle is connected to trans ,now look to your right ,looki carefully u will see the allen key fit filler plug & under that plug to the bottom u see the drain plug same 10mm allen key fit bolt ,but be warned u can only use saab approved manual syn type fluid do not mix any other type trans fluid u will destroy transmission bearings .trust me i have rebuilt enough of them to tell u .good luck .
