1999 Saab 9-3 repair Question Thermostat Removal

Hello. I just need to make sure that the thermostat is in the housing that the top radiator hose connects to? And if so, exactly what bolts do i need to take loose up top. I'm not concerned about flushing the coolant. Thank You. And if you have a diagram that would be very helpful.

u need a 13mm socket & short extension plus a 10mm wrench to remove bolt from water tube coming from water pump ,there is no other thing to pull housing only has two 13mm bolts holding it in place ,make sure to refit thermostat just like how u take it out ,with pressure valve at top ,good luck.
