how do I change the fuel pump?

Remove fuel tank (as described below). Use special tool 83 94 462 (contact local dealer or tool supplier) screw ring removal tool to unbolt fuel pump retaining ring. Lift fuel pump up about 2", then turn clockwise 80 degrees. Carefully remove fuel pump. To reinstall, fit new "O" ring in tank mounting groove. Check alignment marks between fuel pump and tank. Reverse removal procedure. FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
