While driving on the highway with the cruise control set, the car cut out, started running rough and the cruise control stopped working, but the check engine light never came on. I changed the spark plugs, but still runs rough.

Theses car had a big problem with the coil pack, unfortunately it is very difficult to test, have you had a new one recently? Please get back to us.
