Runs cold, is that the reason for oil consumption of is it the new oils?

I would install a new cooling system thermostat because it sounds like it is stuck open. Also, I would increase the oil weight one step to help the oil stay in the engine. To see if it is an oil control ring problem remove the spark plugs to see which one has oil on it this will be the cylinder. I would replace the PCV valve as well. Check out the images (below).
