timing is off

2003 GMC SONOMA
97,000 MILES • 4.3L • 6 CYL • 4WD • MANUAL

Had oil pan gasket replaced and oil lines. Was purring like a kitten before, now timing is off what happened? Changed rotor and cap and number one spark plug and wire.

if timing is off take distributor cap off and see if rotor moves it should not if it does then gear on bottom of distributor is worn out more than likely. if not that and distributor was moved a mechanic has to use a scanner to time it to get cam and crank sensor back into relation.
