While driving sometimes my RPMs will drop suddenly to zero and the car kicks a little. What causes this?

Hello,

First question would be: does your check engine or service engine soon light come on or flash? If so, the first thing I would suggest is to pull the engine codes with a diagnostic scan tool. Most auto parts stores can do this for you for free, if you can get the car to them. If there is a definite safety issue, I would say do not drive it.

The diagnostic codes will give you more insight as to what could be wrong. If there are no codes, all is not lost!. Below I will include a link with some general troubleshooting you can do at home!

Keep us posted and if there are any codes, please post all of them so we can help you solve your issue!
