hi

just bought an R reg Rover 416 sli - all looks in great condition (although I know the k-series is good at popping its head gasket so I put sealant in anyhow!) - 81k

changed the rocker/valve gasket as oil was leaking (it was in a bad way when I opened it - cracked n snapped

disconnected battery -'ve and 2 hose inlets + leads from dist cap to sparks to get it off

put the new one on with sealant and re-connected all (right leads right places)

now it won't start

it is either the immobiliser or something else.... don't have the manual security key as second hand car, tried taking battery out of fob, then open close 4/5 times then starting

nothing
HELP!!!

you need to have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to reset the alarm/immo .. or find a dealer who can supply the 4 digit bypass code using the VIN number
