I dont know if you are able to help me but i have serious problems with my Rover 416 SLI, the steering is very wonkey and shakes violently, in fact it sounds like the whole car is shaking and i can hear a knocking sound, im just not sure what is wrong with it, all i know is im not sure its driveable, just wondering if there is anything i can do myself to it as i have no cash to get it seen to and im about 50 miles from home so if anyone has any suggestions i would be very grateful

Hi there,

You will have to jack up the car and inspect the steering and suspension for worn components, now this is something that you may or may not be able to do, but feel around there should be no movement in the wheels, pulling top to bottom, no excessive movement in the steering, you can check this by turning the free play in the steering and checking for movement in all the steering ends, (do this on the ground) start here.
