2003 Rover 2 Series 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 79.000 miles

just replaced the cylinder head and because the hydraulic tappets were new i was adviced just to put them in. is this correct? if i srpay easy start she wants to run until i stop spaying. would a weak spark cause the car not to start? i can ear the injection system energise is there any thing apart from the timing i should check? compression check was ok.

if it starts with easy start .. you are not getting fuel to cylinders .. check fuel pump fuse/relay .. check pump and inertia cut off switch ..
