1997 Rover 2 Series First Gear/Clutch Point

1997 Rover 2 Series

When my car is at clutch point, (especially hill starts) it shakes violently. All other gears are fine, its only in first gear this happens.

Does anyone know why this is and how to correct it.

The clutch is beginning to slip and needs replacing ..
