1997 Rover 2 Series Two Wheel Drive Manual 65000 miles

Hi i have a rover 220 tdi 1997. I have had it about 3 weeks and has been fine, last night i did some motorway milage of about 50 miles and towards the end of the journey the car was randomly pulling/jumping on the way home it bacame a bit more frequent and again on the way to work this morning. It feels like it has a small misfire and makes the car jerk, u can also feel the uneven tick over when its idle, any idea what this may be ?

check spark plugs/wires/coil .. add a good fuel addative to the tank to clean the injectors .. have a compression test of cylinders !
