I recently changed both the alternator and starter motor on my Rover 214i and now my car won't stop running, even when I take the key out of the ignition or take the battery off. The only thing that turns the car off is switching the headlights on. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

Thanks...

the vehicle cannot possibly keep running when the battery is disconnected ?? your taking out a link in the chain ? this sound like the key switch is faulty ... except for the fact of the battery ??
