The first thing was the MIL came on, car ran fine, then the next day I checked the air filter and a friend ran a scanner on it for engine codes. When we started it up, it ran really rough. It put up a code P0014. My ex, who was a mechanic, replaced the front cam sensor and it made no difference, he then put the old front one in the back sensor and that made no difference, it still runs rough and the MIL light is still on.
We put the scanner back on and cleared the code but that did not work either. Any help here would be appreciated. Where do I go from here?

This code is bank 1 exhaust camshaft is more advanced than what the ECM has commanded it be. First check it make sure your oil level is full and the correct type, clogged oil ports to the cam advance system can cause this problem. The next check is to watch the cam timing advance on a scan tool and unplug the connector to the advance system and see if it changes on the scan tool, then you know it is a wiring or ECM problem, that is just to start with.
