I'd like to verify which way running rotation is

While I'm asking questions about the Kia and timing issues I'd like to verify which way running rotation is. Standing facing the engine do you rotate the crankshaft clockwise or counter clockwise to align the two cam sprockets to the back plate notches?? I have been turning clockwise. Thanks. JC

You are turning it correctly. Clockwise is the directing they need to be turned.
