I used a caliper piston rewind tool to retract the left rear brake caliper piston. I turned the parking brake off and also sprayed silicon on the boots before starting.

The piston retracted partially back in but then stuck before it was fully retracted. As it is now, the caliper will not fit over the new brake pads and rotor.

Before trying to force it, I thought I'd check.

The brake calipers need to be opened all the way in order to put on the new calipers and shoes. You can do this by using a little board and using two screw drivers and slowly open the calipers. Do a little at a time.

This model requires them to be screwed in rather than just compressed. However, I did manage to screw it all the way in after applying an extension to the tool handle. Thank you for your help.
