Reset engine management light

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Here are the steps that I believe should work on a 1990:

_____________________

Turn the ignition key to the run position (engine off)
Within 5 seconds, press the accelerator to the floor 3 times.
Wait approximately 5 seconds and turn the key off.

___________________

Let me know if that works. If not, I will look further into the reset process, but that should do it.

Hey, thanks mate. I tried it still didn't work mate .anything else I could try?

If lights goes off while accelerating and comes on when not accelerating. could it be low fuel pressure?

Is it a check engine light that is coming on or a maintenance light?

If it is the check engine light, you need to have a scan tool to reset it. That isn't a service reminder like I originally thought.

Hey mate, my VN loss power doing 175 kph and when I braking at intersection it cuts out.

I have to be honest, I don't have the technical information needed. However, have you checked fuel pressure and have you checked to make sure there is nothing partially plugging the catalytic converter?
