What is the procedure for replacement of the serpentine belt tensioner? Doesn't look as though this will be a 20 minute repair due to location and obstacles.

Good morning,

Yes, it is tight. You need to remove the belt from the engine first.

Then there is a single bolt for the tensioner to be removed. Once that is released, it is free to come out.

REMOVE/INSTALL
The Poly-V Drive belt is provided with a dynamic tensioner Fig. 6 to maintain proper belt tension. To remove or install this belt:

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove right front splash shield.
3. Release tension by rotating the tensioner clockwise Fig. 6.
4. Reverse above procedure to install.
