Belt will not stay on. Only crank, AC, alternator and tension-er.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

First, here is a link that shows the routing for your vehicle. Check it to make sure you have it routed correctly.

https://www.2carpros.com/diagrams/acura/mdx/2001

If it is routed correctly, with the belt off, check to make sure all pulleys turn and there is no excessive play in them.

If they check good, next, install the belt and determine if all pulleys align.

One of the aforementioned checks is causing the problem. Check those things and let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe

Actually the required belt is too big. I had to hunt around for a smaller belt. That did the trick.

Interesting. Are you sure the automatic tension-er is good? It is odd that you would need a smaller belt. However, stranger things have happened. LOL

The tension-er is fine and all is good now. No noise either. Smooth running. Was really weird that the other was too big also.

I have a feeling the belt you were sold was packaged wrong. Regardless, I am glad you got it fixed. Let us know if you have questions in the future.

Take care,
Joe
