That car can have two different fuel filters depending on the option. One is option NT7 Federal Emission System, on it there is a filter inline that can be changed. Those are the first two pics. The other option is NU6 California Emission System and changing that filter requires the fuel tank to be drained and removed so you can replace the entire filter and pump assembly. The first one isn't bad to change but unless you are actually having a problem with the fuel system I wouldn't go after the other one just to do it. Give it a bit and the pump will likely fail and do it all then.
To tell which version you have is easy. Look at the emissions label under the hood. It will say either Federal or California Emissions.
On the Federal one replacement is started by raising the car and finding the filter, then removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the car, once it shuts off the pressure should be gone. Then using the quick release tool to remove the lines and the filter. Install the new one and plug the lines on,
