Can I use the engine from a 2001 Suzuki xl-7 2.7lt v6 (manual) to replace the engine in my 1997 Suzuki Vitara 2lt v6? I’ve been offered the car but don’t know if it will fit/ be compatible, etc?
Fixing the vitara as the body of xl is unrepairable.

Good morning,

They both have to be 2.7 engines. You did not indicate the donor was a 2.7.

If it is, it will fit but needs modifications and there are differences between the years for the motor.

Can you give me the VIN numbers from both vehicles?

Unfortunately, I don’t have the xl, I’m considering buying it if it’s compatible.
