Can you get me some instructions on how to replace the passenger side top cylinder? It is leaking, but I cannot find anything online about how to do so.

Got it in. Motor sounds noisy does it not? And sometimes needs a minute to cool down before it can work again. Let me know if you think it is. I was trying to bleed it by going up and down. It did but very noisy.

Hi,

I think it is so loud because it is exposed. It sounds normal other than a little loud. Once you have things covering it, you won't notice it as much.

I have two convertibles and they sound the same. LOL

But its taking a minute for the bleeding, sounds like its bubbling on inside and stops every 2 runs.

It has gotten better after a few times but still stops after a minute, maybe getting too hot. But even with the top closed the back window doesn't seem right. No tears of any kind but I am not seeing the window flush with outer top material as it should. Front is locked fine but rear windshield is not pushed up.

Also, top in rear does not fully seat, should be more flat than this.

This is best it can go down. I adjusted the straps, so they are tighter on both ends. It did not help. Nothing is in there to prevent it from folding down more.

Hi:

That can't be right. LOL Do me a favor. Take a look at the directions I added below. See if the adjustments they indicate help.

Note: The directions are when the top is replaced. However, I feel they are relevant to this issue as well.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

The four will attach to the body of the vehicle. The six are the pivot bracket.

Let me know.

Unfortunately, that did not solve it. I am leaning towards a weak motor. As the top goes down fine but the folding and the power needed to push the top-down motor once it's about to fold is much more than just pulling the top down, that's what I am thinking.

Hi,

That is very possible. You did mention it appears to overheat. I thought the motor was new as well. Is that correct?

Hi,

I attached the directions for replacing the motor below. Note: The last pic is the directions for bleeding the hydraulics. Read that before starting.

Let me know if it resolves the issue.

Take care,

Unfortunately, it did not. Must be in the bars, maybe a bent frame.

Hi,

If you have gone through the adjustments and the motor is new as well, it does sound like something may be bent. Have you been able to inspect the steel framing in the location where it stops?

Hi,

I'm not sure what to say. Not being there limits me. I agree with you that the rear window doesn't appear to be sitting right. Are there any different bolt holes in the frame that would allow it to stretch and lay better? In other words (I'm not there so please bear with me) could there be a joint where you could be one bolt hole off?

Not sure. It's just weird also that when top is closed the rear window doesn't pop back tight as it should, not understanding the logic of how that happens.

I understand your frustration. My thought was a possible pivot point bolt was in the wrong hole. I'm sorry, I likely sound like an idiot. LOL Not being there to actually see what is happening makes it hard. I hope you understand.

Let me know.
