After replacing the starter went to hook up the battery cables to the terminals and they started melting

Had someone else hook it up. does this look right it doesn't to me but i'm not mechanically inclined so i wouldn't know. New battery.

Definitely sounds like something is not right for sure! can you post a picture of the starter connections? These trucks have an issue with the battery cable shorting out on the front differential cover area. Have a really good look at this area and try to get us a picture.
