Have you checked the steel part of the filler to see if rust is an issue?

It's not a rust issue, I'm a mechanic it just won't seal at neck and tube bought new plastic lock ring and put it on and still leaks a lot not sure if seal in tank is bad or what can't figure out why, had tank down twice going on round three, it runs out of opening of tank and neck I just put a fuel pump in what the heck?

You sound like you have the same luck as me. The only thing I can say is to start from square one. Remove the tank, identify location of leak, check for damage, imperfections, or anything that can cause it to leak. I assume it didn't leak before you dropped the tank, so something went back together wrong or was damaged.
