Replace regulator and motor drivers side window

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

The labor hours is listed separately for both components. Picture 1 is for the regulator and picture 2 is the motor.

You will note that both call for 1.3 hours labor, totaling 2.6. However, that includes taking apart the door in both cases. Thus, I would estimate two hours for the total job.

Let me know if this helps. If you want to confirm the motor is bad before replacing it, here are the directions for testing. Pictures 3 and 4 correlate with this test.

Motor Test:
1. Remove the driver's door panel.

2. Disconnect the 4P connector from the motor.

3. Test the motor in each direction by connecting battery power and ground according to the table.

CAUTION: When the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately.

4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace it.

Also, here are the directions for replacing the regulator. The remaining pictures correlate with these directions.

Glass/Regulator Replacement

1. Remove:
^ Door panel
^ Plastic cover

2. Lower the glass fully, then peel off the channel guide cover. Remove the screws, then remove the rear channel guide by pulling it upward.

NOTE: When installing the channel guide cover, apply the double-faced adhesive tape to it.

3. Carefully move the glass until you can see the bolts, then remove them.

NOTE: Take care not to drop the glass inside the door.

4. Carefully pull the glass out through the window slot.

NOTE:
^ Take care not to drop the glass inside the deer.
^ Check the guide pin for damage, and replace it if necessary.
^ Scribe a line around the guide pin to show the original location.

5. Disconnect the connector, then remove the regulator through the center hole in the door.

6. Grease all the sliding surfaces of the regulator where shown.

7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ Make sure the guide pin is installed in the rear channel guide properly.
^ Roll the glass up and down to see if it moves freely without binding. Also make sure that there is no clearance between the glass and glass run channel when the glass is closed. Adjust the position of the glass as necessary.
