Shift gear will not come out of park unless I force it out

I have the car listing above that I can't wait to repair. I took the car into the local car shop because my shift gear will not come out of park unless I force it out. Then if I do this when the car is on it shifts roughly . The guy at the shop tells me I need a shifter but cannot find one . Now what my real question here is you guys is, what is my next move? Go to a junk yard and get a shifter? Try and repair the original one somehow or have a new shifter made for the year of the car? Please help
