Hi, just stepped into the car tonight and there is nothing from the heater. Nothing coming from the vents or no noise ie whirring fan etc?

Hi managed to strip away glovebox and thought there was voltage at the fan plug! However it was only 7V (at all speeds) and 0V at speed 0! Not what I expected!
Saw a fan on ebay got a good price so bought it. I have tonight plugged it in on the passenger chair and nothing. Ran a wire from the fuse panel to new fan and that worked. Any ideas where to go from this point? All help gratefully received.

Check fan ground you have a voltage drop in circuit. If ground bad current not getting to motor.
Also check voltage to fan switch. It should be 12V then voltage goes to a fan resistor to left of fan. This drops voltage to give various speeds. Check for continuity see if resistor is burnt.
