2003 Renault Scenic Front Wheel Drive Manual 73000 miles

renault megan scenic 2003 i need to get a gear box for my car as other is on its way out apparently i have to get the code of the gear box is this true if so do i look under the hood off the car or do ilook else where can you help as i havent got a clue

the trans code will be stamped or on a lable attached to the transmission ... contact your local renault dealer with your VIN number and they will be able to tell you the type of trans fitted to your vehicle ... or look in the phone book for your nearest transmission repair centre .. they should be able to recondition your existing transmisssion ... much cheaper than locating and buying a new one ? hope this helps
